MCP Server

The Beefi.ai MCP server gives AI assistants direct access to Beefi financial data. Ask Claude how Apple’s free cash flow changed over five years, and it pulls the numbers from SEC filings instead of guessing.

It works on every plan, including Free. Tool calls run on your API key, so they share your plan’srate limits.

1. Get an API key

Sign in and create a key on the API keys page. Keys start withbf_. Copy it when you create it, because it is shown only once.

2. Connect your AI tool

Claude Code

Run this in your terminal, using your own key:

claude mcp add --transport http beefi https://mcp.beefi.ai/mcp --header "X-API-Key: bf_your_key_here"

Then run /mcp inside Claude Code to check that beefi is connected.

Cursor

Add Beefi to ~/.cursor/mcp.json to use it in every project, or to .cursor/mcp.json in one project:

Restart Cursor, then confirm the beefi server and its tools appear in Cursor Settings under MCP.

Claude.ai and Claude Desktop

Open Settings > Connectors and select Add custom connector.
Name it Beefi and paste the server URL: https://mcp.beefi.ai/mcp
Select Connect. On the Beefi consent screen, paste your API key and approve access.
In a chat, turn on Beefi from the tools menu and ask a question.

On Claude Team and Enterprise plans, an owner may need to add the connector for your organization first.

ChatGPT

Open Settings > Apps & Connectors > Advanced settings and turn on Developer mode.
Back in Apps & Connectors, select Create.
Name it Beefi, paste https://mcp.beefi.ai/mcp as the MCP server URL, and choose OAuth for authentication.
Select Create. On the Beefi consent screen, paste your API key and approve access.

Developer mode depends on your ChatGPT plan, and workspace admins can turn it off.

Available tools

Statement and metric tools take a ticker and an optional period ofannual, quarterly, or ttm.

Tool	What it returns
search_companies	Find companies by name or ticker.
get_company_facts	Company profile: name, CIK, sector, and exchange.
get_income_statement	Revenue, operating income, net income, and EPS.
get_balance_sheet	Assets, liabilities, cash, and equity.
get_cash_flow	Operating, investing, and financing cash flows, capex, and free cash flow.
get_all_financials	All three statements in one call, grouped by reporting period.
get_financial_metrics	Ratios such as ROE, ROA, current ratio, debt to equity, and growth.
get_financial_metrics_snapshot	The latest ratios for a ticker.
get_stock_prices	Daily, weekly, monthly, or yearly price bars. Defaults to the last year of daily bars.
get_price_snapshot	The latest closing price.
get_insider_trades	Recent insider transactions from Forms 3, 4, and 5.
get_sec_filings	A company’s SEC filings, with an optional filter such as 10-K or 8-K.
list_priced_tickers	Tickers that have price history.
list_metrics_tickers	Tickers that have financial metrics.

Troubleshooting

Problem	Fix
401	The key is missing, mistyped, or revoked. Check that it starts with `bf_` and is still active on the API keys page.
429	You hit the per-minute or monthly limit. See Rate Limits for when it resets.
No tools listed	Check that the URL ends in `/mcp`, then restart your AI tool.
